Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro Wifi (REV1.1, then REV1.2) But alas, the light stayed lit, even after allowing 10 minutes for the computer to run (because I read that new motherboards might need more time to index RAM). So something was definitely happening inside there. I should note that when I tried it without the cooler, I was feeling the surface of the CPU lid and it was getting warm. I swear I’ve completely exhausted my options and I’m about to give up. It’s sitting on a cardboard box right now, with the PSU also removed from the case. Tried without a cooler briefly to ensure mounting pressure wasn’t too high. Tried different PCIe slots for the GPU and removing the GPU. CPU light is on.ĭual RAM, single RAM, single RAM tried in every slot. I’ve tried many different configurations.Ĭompletely bare bones (everything out), with only CPU and power. The behavior is the same from one mobo to next, and one CPU to the next. My chipset fan stays running at full speed. There is a chipset fan that comes on every startup, but is supposed to stop after successful POST. Fans spin, but I cannot get past the CPU diagnostic light at all. After starting, the front panel buttons no longer work (power, reset), and I have to turn off the PSU to shut it down. No matter what, as long as the CPU is inserted and power is on, the CPU diagnostic light is on. I’m about to return both board and CPU when I managed to use the Q-Flash feature on my motherboard and update to the latest bios. However if I go through with one of the bypasses - I can manually boot it from the BIOS via my HDD and the PC works perfectly, just like before (I'm using it now to type this, and have just had a good thrashing on Crysis: Warhead). The computer starts to shut down and then the CPU LED comes back on, so the PC turns off, never restarting and forgets the changes I've just made to the BIOS, leaving me at square 1 again. Here's my current problem - after doing the above 'bypasses' to reach the BIOS, it says HDD not found and so I set the boot order as desired and select 'Save & Restart' from the BIOS menu. It also boots normally if I remove the CMOS battery for a while and put it back. The PC boots normally if I hold the MEMOK button. Now when I turn on the machine the CPU LED stays on and the PC shuts down after a few seconds. 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX (2x4GB) RAM 1600MHz (A2 & B2) I then stripped it down and it became this I'm at a bit of a loss here and I'm stuck on what to do, or even what the problem is.
